“An unmistakable voice!” Paul Panait’s incredible career begins in 1986, when at the age of 8 he signals his arrival by rocking the prestigious competition “Ursuletul de Aur” (The Little Golden Bear) with his band The New Beatles. As a performing child prodigy he tours all over his native country, Romania, winning the first place on wildly popular TV show “Beatles la indigo” (Carbon copy Beatles) in 1992, and becoming the youngest ever competitor to win a prize at “Mamaia”, the most important pop-music contest/fest in that part of the world (1994, 2nd place). His coming of age was to be even more explosive. In 1998, at the age of 20, he joins boyband “Gaz pe Foc” (Gas on Fire) in Romania’s capital, Bucharest. Paul’s singing, songwriting and performing skills boost the band into stardom, and for four years in a row it was nothing short of a crazy ride. Paul’s massive hit “Adio” was a number 1 for the band, while his vast performing experience helped other band members up their game as well.
By 2002 the boy-band era was over for Paul, and he was ready to explore new ideas and trends in a solo career. His unmistakable, warm, soulful voice can he heard on recordings as varied as pop-rock to EDM, from solo albums to internet-era collabs with top global DJs. He performs equally well with live bands, as a solo acoustic act or in dance clubs. “I hate you but I love you” becomes a global hit with millions of YouTube views and countless remixes. Paul tours extensively the clubland from Turkey, Greece all the way to Western Europe.
In 2011 Paul visits Canada for the first time, and by 2018 he relocates to Toronto to add another dimension to his career. With more than 32 years in show business, Paul also found time to mentor younger artists, produce several bands, support up-and-coming DJs, and co-write hits. His work ethic is well known and respected in the industry.
Paul is looking forward to hearing from you! “When words leave off, music begins.”
